ADVICE FOR DOGS ON THE 4th of JULY
A Canine Motivational Speaker Tries to Make It Less Stressful
For those of us who live with dogs, The Fourth of July can be a yearly ordeal. The sound of fireworks exploding is not just stressful to them, it sounds like imminent danger. If there are no closet doors open, and no room under the bed, they might jump out a window and run into traffic. It is heartbreaking to see them tremble and whimper when the explosions start, like they are about to face a firing squad.
Some years I sedate them. But this year I am experimenting with a different approach. A canine motivational speaker was available to come to my area and help them work through their irrational fears.
Merrill, this is crazy! Insane! Nuts!
I DO NOT UNDERSTAND!
