No Gifts from the Crows
The story of my endless struggle to make the crows in my yard like me better
A group of crows is called “A MURDER of Crows” which I don’t think is fair since a typical large flock of crows is made up of several generations of the same family. So whoever decided to mark a perfectly agreeable crow family gathering with a word like ‘murder’ had to be anthropomorphizing, knowing the word was far more properly paired with the genus and species known as homo-sapiens. After all, it would be difficult, if not impossible, to find a multi-generational grouping of homo-sapiens with a lineage that doesn’t connect to at least a couple of murders.
As usual, no one consulted me when this linguistic miscalculation was made, Even though I get up at sunrise. every single morning, to feed a rather large (ahem) murder of crows.

A group of only 2 crows is called an Attempted Murder.
This is a treasure. I zoomed in to read every crow wise-crack.
I have my own nut and creature schedule I've somehow turned from whimsical morning thing into a stress-inducing addition to my life. Vacation? Who'll feed the squirrels?
But my creatures aren't as funny as yours.
