This segment was Barbie-perfect. I wasn't sure about this whole Barbie movie thing, but I feel adequately prepared now after seeing this. Thanks for your diligence--in reporting and posting videos.

Please don’t take this down. It’s amazing.

Merrill, I wish you were still doing this. Could you get the job again? You’d be so great.

We need you out there reporting on Merrill topics. We’re all so sick of the news. I want to hear more about the world as seen through the eyes of the smartest and most hilarious person I have ever known.

Not only DON'T TAKE IT DOWN, post it everywhere.

It's perfect, and so were you, the perfect person to make this historic record.

This is the only Barbie movie I want to see.

Well, I do want to see the other one.

I want a woman-directed movie to knock the box office numbers out of the park! Greta Gerwig is a Hollywood hero of mine. I'm a fan of her acting, writing, producing, directing, the way she expresses herself in interviews, her charisma, and her innate adorable-ness that has kept the vicious anti-woman press at bay.

More than a bonus thing: your delivery was so on-point it hurt! And those two girls in the heart cut-out? Like, oh my god *insert Valley Girl tone here* Do not, I repeat, do not take this down. It is priceless and all-consuming. And awesome!

Right? My 12yo is perfecting sarcasm and this was a great expo of why Gen X mom is the way she is. Merrill, thank you for helping me on my parenting journey.

You who was freaked out by my Quickdraw cartoon? BTW that wasnt Hitler on the soundtrack. It was Peter Lorre from M. 1931. People who speak German complained to me that it made no sense in context. But there were only like two of them.

I apologize, I should clarify, I was joking. I knew it was Peter Lorre, and I suspected it was M; it sounds like the horrifying kangaroo court scene. I thought it was brilliant, an Inspired idea to combine those two things. I’ve seen similar combinations, by people like Robert Smigel, but it knocked me out that you put that together. In a way, it’s even darker than the things I’ve seen from Smigel.

So, no, please, I’m sorry I gave you the wrong impression. I loved it!

When I was watching it, my wife came in and said, “what the HELL is that you’re watching?” I said, believe it or not, Merrill Markoe told me to watch it.

I especially liked the women admitting that yes, Ken is pretty great too.

I’ve been laughing with you since the morning show, but I got to admit I when I was younger I never thought your work would be so timeless, not because it wasn’t good, but because I had higher hopes for our civilization getting more self aware. I thought the 80s were just a special time of ignorance that would pass. Boy was I wrong. With hindsight it is obvious it that your work and our need for it is never done

I remember 1986. I had forgotten that the world was just as full of disaster and commercial distraction then as it is now. Maybe because I was 18? Anyway I am so glad you were alive then too. Thank you for this hilarious wonderment!

I am so HAPPY you had not pulled it! I love your segment! I’m sure there are many more that are as amazing!! I admit I was in the Barbie Cult for a bit - then I grew out of it when I had a date with Ken - I have SEEN THINGS!! - or I should say I did NOT see things about that “guy”!!
